About Us

Workforce Training is a workforce development initiative of the Microenterprise Development Center, Inc. (MDC). MDC was established in 1997 as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization to support the development of micro and small businesses in Maryland. MDC extended its services to provide economic and community development growth opportunities through workforce development initiatives. The target customers for our workforce training programs are urban residents. MDC continues to provide entrepreneurial training and business development assistance through contracts with local municipalities and private organizations.

Mission

Our mission is to educate, empower and provide livable-wage employment opportunities through a variety of personal and professional development programs, job training and job placement.

Vision

To revitalize communities by empowering local residents and offering a better quality of life through job opportunities, education, and entrepreneurship.

Capabilities

MDC has established a solid track record over the past 12 years of developing and successfully completing entrepreneurial and employment training initiatives for youth and adults.  Since 2002, MDC has provided employment training contractual services for The Housing Authority of Baltimore City, Mayor's Office of Employment Development, Youth Opportunity Program, Neighborhood Networks, Baltimore Urban League, Civic Works Inc., Baltimore Department of Social Services, and other public and private organizations. MDC has also formed partnerships with organizations through grants and contractual agreements. We continue to support Baltimore City's public and private organizations requiring capacity building services in workforce development in low-income communities.
